Annual General Meeting 2020

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the 86th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of The British Institute for the Study of Iraq (BISI) will be held at the British Academy, 10 Carlton House Terrace, London, SW1Y 5AH on Wednesday 26 February 2020, 6.00pm for members to:

·         receive and consider BISI’s accounts and balance sheet, and the reports of Council

·         appoint the Auditor or Independent Examiner

·         elect Members of Council

·         and to discuss any matter of business which is properly transacted.

Council Nominations and Elections 2020

At BISI’s 86th Annual General Meeting (AGM) – the following individuals will be stepping down from Council, after serving two full terms:

Dr Ellen McAdam, Council Member (Birmingham Museums)

The following individual also stepped down from Council in June 2019:

Professor Sarah Bowen Savant (Aga Khan)

The following Key Office holders wish to stand for re-election after serving 2 full terms:

Dr Paul Collins, Chair of Council (Ashmolean Museum)

Mrs Joan Porter MacIver, Vice-Chair of Council

In addition, the following Council Members wish to stand for re-election after serving 1 full term:

Dr Glen Rangwala, Council Member (University of Cambridge)

The following BISI members have been nominated for Council and will stand for election:

Dr Renad Mansour (Chatham House)

Dr Rosalind Wade Haddon (SOAS)

Voting: in February, BISI members will be notified of the candidates standing for election, and will be invited to vote by post (deadline 24 February 2020) or in person at the 86th AGM.
